Monofocal: Result of a cataract surgery in a patient with astigmatism, unfixed. As you can see, all images have been blurred out in a single direction, due to the corneal astigmatism.
Toric: Result of a cataract surgery in a patienti with a fixed astigmatism. As you can see, everything but reading distance, is in focus. Toric lenses compensate for corneal astigmatism and give the best results in these cases.
