Normal: Scene as seen by a young patient
Cataract: Pacient with a cataract.
Monofocal: Patient with a monofocal lens, without astigmatism. As you can see, image quality for is excellent for objects far away but lacking for reading.
Trifocal: Patient with trifocal lenses. Image quality is very good for objects placed far away, intermediate and reading distance. During the first weeks, rounded “halos” may be seen around light sources.
